The Legislative Press Bureau has banned journalist Roland Worwee from the House Press Gallery after he was investigated and found guilty of fighting a colleague on the grounds of the Capitol Building
. Mr . Roland Worwee, Publisher of the Corruption Watch Newspaper, fought David Taborlee of the Women Voices Newspaper on grounds that (Tarbolee) received five hundred Liberia dollars (L$500.00) as transportation for him (Roland) but refused to give same to him.
The money was part of transportation for journalists after a hearing on Community radio budgetary support held by the House Committee on Information and Broadcasting in early march.
Mr. Worwee as publisher of a newspaper, wrote the Press Bureau accrediting himself as reporter to cover the press bureau. He has reacted to our ban by publishing misleading stories in his paper that the Press Bureau Director has begun eating journalists’ money.
Several new lawmakers have complained Mr. Worwee of attempted blackmail. The Bureau has advised Lawmakers to refrain from doing business with Mr. Worwee as doing will be at the peril of the reputations.
