Deputy Prime Minister Meets Speaker Tyler

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has commended the Liberian Legislature for it progressive stance in helping the country recover from the years of devastation caused by the civil war.

His Excellency Jean Asselborn made the commendation today when and delegation paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives , J. Alex Tyler on Capitol Hill.

The First Deputy Prime Minister , who is on a one (1) day working visit to Liberia, said with the with the good image of Liberia and the number of Investment friendly enactments passed by the legislature, direct foreign investment firms from his country will be encouraged to do business in Liberia.

He disclosed that his country is prepared to assist in the area of training of airport security and road development.

Mr. Asselborn praised Liberians for not only conducting a peaceful elections but also accepting the results and moving on with its development agenda.

For his part , House Speaker Tyler told the visiting Deputy Prime Minister that Liberians welcome the cooperation from the Government and People of Luxembourg.

He pointed out the Legislature will remain committed to the tenet of democracy by effectively performing its oversight responsibilities on the Executive .

The Prime Minister will meet with Foreign Minister Ngafuah, Pro Tempore Findley and President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf before departure today.
