House Establishes Law Reform Commission
The House Representatives has passed ‘An Act Establishing the Law Reform Commission’.
Plenary took the decision during its regular Session on Thursday June 9, 2011 after several hours of deliberation on the report from the standing committee on Judiciary which calls for the amendment of certain provisions of the Bill that include Sections 1.2, 2.5 (b), 3.2, 3.4 and 7.1 which were in contradiction with existing statutes
Earlier on Tuesday, the Plenary of the House sent the Bill to committee room for the second time after been informed by several inconsistencies and breach of constitutional provisions.
The Act provides for the revision of the laws of Liberia to insure their systematic development and reform, including codification and unification.
